RACE DAY INFORMATION
Everything is looking good for the race for April 30th, 2010.
Registration will be set up at the Laurel Highlands Outfitter's Booth.
This is located 1 mile outside of the town of Albright, West Virginia, adjacent
to the festival site.
Registration is from 3:30 pm to 5:10 pm. Please be ready to go for the racers meeting around 5:10pm. The mass start is scheduled tentatively for around 5:15 to 5:28, depending on how quickly we can get the Upper Yough workers registered and out on the course. We will again be providing beverages and some snacks at the takeout.
Pre-Registration guarantees you a t-shirt. There is a limited supply of
t-shirts.
As with prior years, race hard, but race safely. If you see someone in trouble,
help out. This race won't exist very long if we don't help out our fellow
racers. We need to make sure everyone comes back safely and in one piece.
PLEASE NOTE THIS...... With the ever increasing crowds, we are getting more and
more squeezed with trying to find shuttle vehicle and buses. Right now, we have
arranged for buses and trucks at the takeout, but we can't control how many
people show up (race participants) and there's only so many rafting companies
(and others) to get trucks from. If we get more people than last year, we are
going to be heavily squeezed. If you have a some sort of high valued glass kayak
that's been autographed by the Roger Zbel, you may want to arrange your own
shuttle. Any help with shuttling vehicles is greatly appreciated. If you have a
friend picking up you and your boat....try to get some other people out too. We
will do our best to be careful when loading up your boats, but it may get tight
this year.
We will again be having a caterer providing food at the post race party for a
nominal charge, held over at Mountain Streams. The Caterer will be setting and
cooking food around 7:30pm or so. We anticipate getting the racers back around
8pm. Please note that you are welcome to bring whatever family and friends over
to MS&T for the party. We (The Race Staff) are purchasing two additional kegs
this year for the race. If you would like to drink pop, kool aid or whatever
other non alcoholic drink you prefer, you will need to provide that yourself.
Race results, award ceremony and the giving away of prizes is tentatively set
for around or between 9:30pm to 10pm.
Other than that, thanks for entering the race this year and see you on April
30th!!!
